Our story
Some mornings ask more of us than we feel ready to give.
You slept badly. And it’s Monday. Work is waiting, and you could use one small reason to smile.
You open Kiboochat and start a voice conversation, almost like a video call with your pet.
An ordinary Monday
Just a few minutes can change the start of a day.
The coffee is still warm in your hands. Work is still waiting. But now you are smiling — a little more ready to face the day.
This story began somewhere unexpected.
JamieGood morning. Is this Chris?
ChrisYeah. Good morning.
JamieWhat’s on your mind today? Maybe a quick riddle — or a morning boost?
ChrisI need a boost.
JamieHere’s one for today: “A good laugh is sunshine in a house.”1
ChrisThanks. That made me smile.
JamieGreat! That’s why I’m here.
Scene note: Jamie is the Digital Pet Companion; Chris is the person. You can name your pet whatever you wish.

The first spark
The moment everything shifted.
I was demonstrating how AI could turn an idea into a working chatbot. I asked a colleague a simple question: “What kind of chatbot would make your daily life better?”
He could not think of one. I needed an idea quickly.
How about a chatbot with the personality of a snarky cat — whose sole purpose is to make people laugh?
Within minutes, the cat was responding. The demonstration worked, and my colleague was amazed. I thought it was funny, but too silly to be a product.
02
The signal
Then people asked for the cat again.
Later that evening, I showed the text-based cat chatbot to my family. They listened to its snarky replies, laughed, and kept talking with it.
They saw more in it than I did.
I dismissed the idea. But over the next several weeks, friends and family kept asking to talk with the cat again. I expected the novelty to fade.
It didn’t.
03
The insight
The cat worked because it wasn’t trying to be human.
Most chatbots try to act like people or complete tasks. This one did neither. It was a pet by design.
People already talk to their pets. Many of us have wondered what a beloved cat or dog might say if it could answer.
What if AI became something people already wished could talk?
It could be playful, expressive, and familiar without pretending to be a person.
That insight became Kiboochat. A Digital Pet Companion you can adopt as a cat or dog and talk with out loud, face to face, in a video-call-like experience on your phone.

The promise
The day may not have changed. But your moment has.
A conversation. A laugh.
A brighter moment.
